Rental Living Room

From the house, and from the 6-person hot tub located on the verandah framed with wisteria, clematis and honeysuckle, there is a spectacular view of Ganges Harbour (right) and 10,778 ft. Mt. Baker in Washington State. The house features 10 ceilings with skylights, hardwood floors and all-brass fixtures and hardware. The extensive gardens include fruit trees, rhubarb, cascade berries, raspberries, grape vines, kiwifruit, abundant flowers and beautiful trees. Open lawn in front of the house allows for a game of croquet or badminton.

The Plantation Gardens
Well-known for its exquisite gardens, Alders Plantation contains over 380 different species of trees, flowering shrubs & bushes, totaling 22000 plants. The property includes a 21-tree orchard, various fruits (raspberries, rhubarb, cascade berries, blackberries, kiwifruit, bananas), giant dahlias, delphinium, show chrysanthemums, lupines, liatris, over 1000 daffodils and narcissus, 630 tulips, and over 80 hostas, ferns and astilbe. There is also a pond with four varieties of water lilies and a four-tiered waterfall next to the guest cabin.

Other Amenities
The property is on a 10-home cul-de-sac, convenient to town - only a five minute walk to Ganges Village or the beach. The property is on the Maxwell Lake water supply (reputed to be the best in the Gulf Islands). A 120-ft "widow-maker" Douglas fir, used as a roosting tree by a mated pair of bald eagles from September to June, sits 100 yards from the verandah. The best time is often the morning, when spectacular sunrises warm the verandah, where one can enjoy morning tea, or the 26-jet hot tub to massage those aches away.
